When Chepstow Plant Services moved their first of 5 new Komatsu HD785’s into a large UK quarry recently there wasn’t a lot of room for much else on the roads.  Not something you would usually find on the roads in the UK, these trucks are more likely to be found in the mining industry in Australia or Africa.

 Is the construction industry a sign of what’s to come for other industries? If it is then the future looks bright!  We have seen Caterpillar invest £50 million in their UK production plants and JCB report their biggest turnover in 66 years (37% greater than in 2010) the plant industry in the UK certainly seems to be coming back to life.

Chepstow Plant Services were awarded HSBC's Business Thinking 2012 award at a ceremony held at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff on the 22nd March.  Hosted by Gavin Esler of BBC2's flagship political programme - Newsnight the ceremony saw CPS competing against a range of highly inspirational businesses.
